About The Program

The Digital Marketing (Online) diploma program will enable students to develop strategies used in marketing, managing an organization’s online reputation, and tactics used for digital marketing success such as social media marketing, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, email marketing, and web design. Gain knowledge of budgeting, brand style guides, and analytics dashboards to become a digital marketing professional in this rapidly growing industry.

Program Details

Digital Marketing (Online) covers the essentials of search engine and social media marketing while exploring the principles of content optimization, and analytics. This is your opportunity to pursue a new career, or gain the skills to boost your existing career, from the convenience of your home and comfortably fit an education into your busy life.

Students will learn how to effectively plan marketing activities based on market research and identify target customers. Explore content strategy, ranging from how to develop content for specific target audiences to measuring the impact and results, email marketing at the conversion and retention stages, and how to create, execute and measure the results of email campaigns.

Graduates will also gain skills and knowledge on:

  • Display advertising campaigns using Google Ads
  • Constructing and optimizing pay-per-click Google Ads and techniques on marketing spending and budgeting
  • Online reputation management using real-life case studies
  • Search engine analytics using Google Analytics to evaluate audiences and conversions, measure acquisition success and utilizing results for planning and budgeting
  • Techniques on social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat, to deliver targeted content and impact interactions between businesses and consumers

The key concepts and trends of digital marketing drive marketing for businesses and the knowledge to apply digital marketing tools and best practices will enable graduates to excel as a digital marketing professional. Students have the option to take the Digital Marketing (Online) program full-time at 20 hours per week, or part time at just 10 hours per week.

Outlook has become the corporate standard electronic personal organizer. These are the foundational skills needed to communicate using Outlook in a variety of positions within and organization. This course is computer intensive and demands basic computer proficiency and a basic understanding of e-mail software. Students are expected to make arrangements to meet proficiency needs.

Students will be evaluated through a variety of assignments, projects, presentations, quizzes and exams in addition to their participation throughout the course.

Students will learn about the "Hidden" Job Market and ways to access it in their upcoming job search, how to research opportunities and network for industry contacts, and use appropriate etiquette when communicating with prospective employers. Students will identify their personal skills, values and preferences for the workplace, begin preparation of a professional resume and references, and organize proof documents for their career portfolio. Class discussions on various self-management topics introduced in Student Success Strategies will round out this module, which is a pre-requisite for Career Planning and Preparation - Part II.

This module continues to build on the concepts and skills introduced in Career Planning and Preparation - Level I. Students will learn how to conduct an effective job search and identify various methods of applying for work with today's technology. Students will create a personal list of "Top Employers" and target current industry opportunities, while finalizing their professional resume, portfolio and career correspondence. Students will learn to identify the different types and forms of interviews, practice responding to typical questions, and practice follow-up, evaluation and negotiation techniques they can use to ensure success. Self-management topics from Career Planning and Preparation - Level I will be reviewed, with a focus towards on-the-job success in both learner placements and post-graduate employment. Students will be evaluated through a variety of assignments, projects, and quizzes in addition to their participation throughout the course.

This course will give students a solid foundation in the strategic, tactical and creative essentials of Digital Marketing. Emphasis is placed on those computers outfitted with the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.
