Due to the increasing number of aging Canadians, Continuing Care Assistants  (CCAs) are in high demand in Nova Scotia. The need for CCAs is only expected to rise and create more career opportunities in the future. Being a CCA is fulling work and with a strong employment outlook working as a CCA has never been more advantageous!

Right now, the Nova Scotia government is providing funding to select healthcare facilities to train individuals who see themselves working in this meaningful and important role in Healthcare. Training is delivered by Eastern College in partnership with the chosen long-term care facilities.

About North Queens Nursing Home

North Queens Nursing Home is a medium-sized long-term home for special care facility in Caledonia, Nova Scotia. They offer 24-hour care to those who can no longer care for themselves at home. They are a not-for-profit organization under the direction of a Board of Directors and have a 43-resident capacity, with both respite and palliative care services. North Queens Nursing Home first opened in 1938 as the Wright Nursing Home. In 1944 it became a Cottage Hospital primarily supporting maternity care.
