About Our System Administrator Program
Build practical skills in IT support, systems administration, and networking at Eastern College. You will learn how to support end users, administer Windows client and server environments, manage Linux systems, maintain network infrastructure, and troubleshoot common technical issues.
Through hands-on training and practical activities, you will develop the technical and professional skills needed to support day-to-day IT operations.
The program includes an 8-week internship, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills in a professional workplace and gain valuable industry experience before graduating.
The program also prepares you to pursue eligible industry-recognized certification exams from CompTIA and Microsoft.
You will also learn how to use online resources, advanced search techniques, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support technical problem-solving where applicable.

Program Details
Build practical, job-ready skills in IT support, systems administration, and networking with Eastern College’s System Administrator + Internship diploma program.
Through hands-on training and practical activities, you will gain experience in PC support, Windows client and server administration, Active Directory, network administration, Linux systems, IT service management, and security fundamentals. You will also develop the troubleshooting and communication skills needed to support users and day-to-day IT operations.
The 45-week program includes an 8-week, 160-hour internship, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills in a professional workplace. Digital literacy, student success, and career preparation courses are also included to support your academic and employment readiness.

Admission Requirements
- Student has Grade 12 or equivalent or meets criteria for Mature Student Status.
- Mature students must be 19 years of age, pass a qualifying test, and provide a Letter of Intent OR resume that supports their skills and aptitudes to be successful in the program.
- The approved qualifying test for this program is the Wonderlic test. A passing score for this program is 18.
