PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Are you mechanically inclined and looking for a specialized career path? Graduates of Eastern College’s Steamfitter / Pipefitter Diploma program are ready to fill this niche role within the trades, with an even balance of training in both classroom theory and shop application. In the workplace, you’ll be responsible for planning, assembling, installing, and repairing industrial, manufacturing, and water treatment piping systems.

These systems are used to transport essential materials including steam, water, air, gases, chemicals, solids, and fuel. Graduates may use this training as a credit towards apprenticeship, for a head start on your steamfitter / pipefitter career path. Graduates will be eligible to complete the Apprentice Level I Exam.

STUDENTS RECEIVE

  • 160-hour work placement
  • Graduates may qualify for credit towards their apprenticeship
  • Hands-on, practical training

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The Steamfitter / Pipefitter program will qualify grads to pursue positions in Industrial and Commercial Construction, Generating Plants, Pulp Mills, Manufacturing and Oil Refineries.

CERTIFICATIONS

Steamfitter - Pipefitter is an apprenticeship trade in New Brunswick and graduates working in the trade with a journeyperson should apply to become registered apprentices as soon as they start work.

Graduates of this program may qualify for credit toward their apprenticeship upon registering as an apprentice with their trade employer.

Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification, Government of NB. Graduates may also be eligible to challenge the apprenticeship level one exam and upon successful completion of that exam and meeting the on the job requirements for their trade will become second year apprentices.
