Program Advisory Committees

What is a Program Advisory Committee?

Program Advisory Committees (PACs) provide an important link between Eastern College and the community. The PAC is a group of industry/sector professionals who help inform our programs about current trends and employer needs related to the skills requirements for in their sector as they relate to our program curriculum.

PAC members include employers, graduates, business and industry leaders, and representatives from professional and accrediting bodies and agencies.

What Does the Role Entail?

Your active participation can help build program quality and ensure students are well prepared to contribute to industry advancement and success. This could include:

  • Provide curriculum content suggestion to ensure our programs are current
  • Provide guidance on both technical and soft skills required by graduates
  • Support the student learning journey and satisfaction
  • Provide suggestions for placement opportunities such as field placements or clinical experience

The Reward

Committee members volunteer their time and expertise to our College to support the maintenance of our programs. We want to ensure the high quality and occupational relevance of our curriculum and the contributions of the PAC members can help aid that mission.

The Commitment

Committee members can expect 2-6 hours of commitment per year for a three-year term renewable once for a total of up to six years.
