Being prepared and organized before you begin college will get you started on the right foot and make you feel more calm and ready.

Have I Figured out My Commuting and Parking Situation?

Some students are lucky to live close to their local Eastern campus, while others must come from miles away. Have you thought about how you are going to get to school and how long it will take?

You want to make sure that your transportation is reliable and can consistently get you to class on time. It is also important to determine how this will affect your weekly budget. If you drive, make sure that you have your Eastern parking pass.

Do I Have All of My Class Materials?

You need to do a certain amount of reading and other assignments from home to fulfill your course obligations. Will you have enough time to accomplish this task?

If you do not already have a weekly schedule, be sure to create one. It is vital for planning your day and making the most of your time. You can see what things are most important and what can be put on hold. Make sure you factor in everything that has a bearing on your week (e.g. part-time work, child care, family obligations, volunteer work, etc).

Do Some Course Prep

While you will learn a great deal at Eastern, it never hurts to acquire a bit of knowledge about the subject before classes start. That way you will be ahead of the game and not have to spend as much time with the basic concepts of the course.

Investigate your library and online sources for information about the subject you have chosen and arrive at school extra prepared. Impress the instructor with your ambition and interest in learning!

What is the Best Way to Follow-Up my Eastern Courses?

Many Eastern graduates earn their degree and quickly attain paid employment, while others decide pursue additional education. What sort of position do you hope to earn with your degree? Have you considered the best way to go about that?

If you are not sure, don’t worry—Eastern offers its students career preparation and assistance that will help answer difficult questions and point you in the right direction. Your instructor will also be happy to help you make the most of what you have learned.

Good luck with your courses and thank you for choosing Eastern College!
