About The Program

The Business Administration and Management (BAM) Diploma at Eastern College is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in various business environments. This online business program provides a strong foundation in business fundamentals, including human resources, management principles, business law, and marketing, while also incorporating digital literacy and advanced data management skills. A four-day week allows students to balance their priorities and commitments while they train for their future careers.

Students will develop essential interpersonal and communication skills, learning how to effectively manage teams, handle customer relations, and navigate workplace diversity. They will also gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software, such as Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks, and Sage 50, ensuring they are well-equipped for modern business operations and for careers in administration and office management.

In business, ideas are just the beginning. It’s the skills, strategy, and confidence that bring them to life. Eastern College’s Business Administration and Management (BAM) diploma is a 49-week program that blends theoretical knowledge with practical application to give students the skills to bring business ideas to life. Students begin with online courses in business communication, digital literacy, and professional development, building the fundamental skills needed for success in any business role. 

Business courses in management and leadership provide insight into organizational behaviour, recruitment strategies, and project planning, helping students develop the skills needed to lead teams and manage business operations. Marketing and digital business strategies are also key components of the online business and management program, ensuring you understand the importance of branding, customer engagement, and market research. 

You’ll also receive training in business law, human resources, and financial management, giving them a well-rounded understanding of business operations. You’ll also learn how to analyze financial data, use accounting software, and manage databases, making them valuable assets in any organization. Over the course of an 8-week internship, students will apply what they have learned and graduate with meaningful real-world experience.

This course will introduce you to and provide practice in using the tools required for a successful job search. The concepts covered in this course will help you maintain a career-focused approach throughout your studies so that you are better prepared to conduct a job search after graduating. This course builds on concepts and skills introduced in the Career Planning and Preparation Level 1 course. In this subsequent course, you will update and refine your résumé and LinkedIn Profile. You will continue writing cover letters and learn the value of customizing cover letters to specific job postings. You will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge as you conduct a job search and write a cover letter tailored to an ideal job post. Through research, you will create a list of top employers and target current industry opportunities. You will learn about current methods for applying to job postings using technology. You will also gain an understanding of the job interview process, typical interview questions and possible responses, and expectations of both the interviewer and interviewee. In addition, you will engage in practical application of the interview process through role-play. Topics such as negotiating salary, self-management, and on-the-job success for placements and post-graduate employment will be also covered.
