The Medical Transcriptionist diploma program provides the opportunity for students to pursue an 8-week field placement for hands-on experience.
The Medical Transcriptionist diploma program will qualify grads to pursue medical transcriptionist positions within hospitals, clinics, physician’s offices and transcription service companies.

Do you want to join the growing healthcare industry? Are you interested in acquiring skills that will help you succeed in a hospital and medical office environment? If so, the Medical Transcriptionist program is just what you need to launch your career.
As part of this in-demand program, students will gain in-depth knowledge of Microsoft applications, spelling and grammar standards in the industry, medical report formatting, and keyboarding techniques – skills which are all mandatory for the role. By the end of the program, students will have a solid understanding of the human body as well as the skeletal, muscular, integumentary, cardiovascular, reproductive, endocrine, sensory, and nervous systems. The program also comes with training on electronic healthcare records.
Students who successfully complete this program will be eligible to write the Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist exam through the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI). To pursue this, students must make arrangements directly with AHDI.

- Demonstrate fluency in English (oral and written).
- Possess a typing speed of 40 wpm.
- Admissions Interview to determine suitability for a career as a Medical Transcriptionist.
