Halifax, NS; Eastern College, a part of triOS Education Group is proud to announce the launch of the Remote Delivery learning option for its Health Information Management (HIM) diploma program to better meet the needs of students across Atlantic Canada.

Online Remote Delivery follows just two months after the July introduction of the Online Self-Study HIM program. This option provides an additional pathway for students who prefer live instruction, scheduled classes, and the ability to learn within a connected virtual classroom led directly by Eastern’s experienced faculty.

Program Highlights:

  • Program Length: 73-weeks (full-time).
  • Delivery Option: Online Remote (NEW) – live, online classes with Eastern College faculty.
  • Accreditation: Fully recognized by the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM).
  • Practicum: 8-week placement in a healthcare environment provides practical, real-world experience.
  • Graduate Pathways: Eligibility to write the National Certification Examination (NCE) and pursue the CHIM designation.

“Adding Online Remote Delivery strengthens the options available to our students,” said Shali Ramprasad, HIM Program Coordinator (triOS and Eastern/CD-ED). “With both online self-study and online Remote formats now available, students can choose the learning experience that best fits their needs, while still accessing CHIMA-accredited training that prepares them for in-demand careers in health information and data management.”

Graduates of Eastern’s HIM program will be prepared for roles such as Health Information Specialist, Privacy Officer, Data Quality Analyst, and Records Coordinator. These career paths are in growing demand across hospitals, clinics, government agencies, and private healthcare organizations.
