About The Barbering Program
In the Barbering diploma program you will practice the latest techniques and explore products specific to this field. This in-demand barbering program is offered at our Saint John location in New Brunswick. The barbering courses focuses on haircuts, cutting and trimming of facial hair, hair colouring, colour assessments and corrections and sanitizing of workstations, tools, and equipment. Throughout the program, you will gain valuable experience working with real clients in our campus barbershop.

Admission Requirements
- Student has Grade 12 or equivalent or meets criteria for Mature Student Status.
- Mature students must be 19 years of age, pass a qualifying test, and provide a Letter of Intent OR resume that supports their skills and aptitudes to be successful in the program.
- The approved qualifying test for this program is the Wonderlic test. A passing score for this program is 12.

When you graduate from the Eastern College barber course, you are job ready for this career. Our on site barbershop has a regular clientele, so you get to work with many different types of hair and styles. You will also be doing straight blade shaving as well as beard trimming and facial massages. We work closely with the NBRBA, New Brunswick registered barbers association to ensure all requirements are met for licensing in this trade. I, your instructor am a master barber and a shop owner, been in this career for 45 years, so it becomes a life long journey for many who love this trade.
